Bladesmith Gift Bundle – Damascus Steel Forging Weekend

Here it is folks: The holiday gift for the blade smithing enthusiast in your life.

The holy grail skill of hobby knife smithing: Fancy patterned steel from scratch, AND a month of membership in Hammerspace Workshop to finish it off and work on beefing up your skills in our workshop!

In this class, we will be learning all the skills and processes required to make your own pattern-welded Damascus steel for making beautiful knives and swords or even jewelry and art!

We will be working with 1084 and 15n20 steels and forge welding a 13-19 layered billet of steel. Students will forge out this stack into rectangular knife blanks and learn to machine the finished slab into smooth flat surfaces.

Students will work together to create a large amount of Damascus and then divide and forge their portion to final shape to keep.

We will not be creating a finished knife in this class but we will complete a finished flat knife blank for each student of sufficient size to make a knife.

The sample image is an example of a 13 layer knife blade made from the same style Damascus from our forge.
