Elf Ears & Goblin Noses: Latex Prosthetics & Life-casting Workshop
This is a TWO PART class! (You must attend both sessions to finish your creation)
Part 1: Sunday, Oct. 4th, Noon-5:00pm
Part 2: Sunday, Oct. 11th, Noon-5:00pm
For ages: 14-114 years old
Cost: $25 base class cost per session + materials cost (depending on how large your molds are)
A series of workshops based around making your own prosthetics, props, and monster parts. Get a experience using special effects materials and learn advanced air-brush techniques. Learn to mold and cast in stones, alginates, and latex. Each session will involve new materials and techniques as well as continuing education in the fundamentals. If you have a costume to build, come in with your ideas, and we will help you make it a reality. In this session we will be making life castings of your nose or ears or forehead etc., so you can make custom prosthetic ears, noses and foreheads that fit your body perfectly. Class has extra time budgeted depending on how involved the projects are. Class may not run until 5pm depending on how fast we work.

Who wants to dismember some stuffed animals, and then make a new creepy creation from all the random dismembered parts, for themselves or for a loved one with a twisted sense of humor? We will be providing all the materials and guidance needed to make a 'FrankenStuffy' of your very own. You are also welcome to bring some of your own stuffed animal and baby doll 'victims' to use or donate for this build event.
Animatronic Costuming & Props: How To Use Arduino & Servos for Animatronics
For Ages: 8-108 years old
(please make sure your child is accompanied by an adult)
Cost: $25/members, $30/non-members
We will use a Trinket (arduino compatible) microcontroller board to create a servo controller to control a servo that can be attached to your prop or costume. This will allow you to animate your prop by wire with a control knob. This technique can be used in almost every practical special effect to provide highly controllable animation. Larger servos are available for heavy props, but are not included in the basic price.
