After a weekend of experimenting with his kid's long forgotten MOON SAND (tm) stash, HammerSpace owner David Dalton discovered that this bizarre play-material can be used for quick & easy sand-casting! To celebrate this new discovery, he has designed a MOON SAND (tm) casting class for those interested in learning this clever process. This class will be held several times throughout the year at HammerSpace. Check the online CALENDAR PAGE for future class dates if you are unable to attend our first session in February. This is a great class to take with your kids or grandkids, giving both you and them a fun introduction to molding & casting.
MOON SAND (tm) CASTING: MEDALLIONS & MONEY

Class Description:
Desktop pewter sand casting with MOON SAND (tm). Make your own novelty coins and medallions with common materials. Learn the basics of sand-casting on a smaller scale, while making your own custom medallion or novelty coin.
Three types of low-melt metal molds will be demonstrated. Each student will make molds, then melt and cast some pewter. Novelty Coins, Medallions, Barrett clips and more are possible. Make as many as you like.
For Ages: 10 and up.
Class cost: $25 plus $1.75 per oz of pewter used.
(Member cost: $20 plus $1.75 per oz of pewter used.)
