Instructors Wanted at HammerSpace!

INSTRUCTORS WANTED

HammerSpace has been very fortunate in its first year to have such wonderfully talented local artists, hobbyists, and programmers offer classes to our members and others of all ages, but we are always on the lookout for more talented people who are interested in teaching their maker-talents to the HammerSpace community. It's a fun way to share your tinkering techniques with people, while earning a some extra money, which is especially nice right now with the holiday season creeping up on us.

Interested in teaching a class at HammerSpace Community Workshop? Here's what you need to know: First, let it be known that HammerSpace DOES NOT require class instructors to put down a deposit to use our facility for a class! All  you have to do is contact our workshop facility to arrange an ideal date & time for your proposed class. We will also assist you in deciding what to charge for your class (you must charge a minimum of $15/person for your classes).

Once the details are established, we will add your class to the HammerSpace Class Calendar, and promote your class through our website blog, social networking sites, and discussion groups up until the day of the class. We will also handle the RSVP sign up list for you. Class attendees pay the class fee when they arrive for the class. Once your class is over, we will total up the payments taken from the students who attended, and 33% of that total will go to HammerSpace to cover overhead. The rest of the profits go directly to you, the instructor! This way, you aren't out any money if only two people show up for your class. Although, we never seem to have a problem filling up classes at HammerSpace.

If you are interested in teaching a class at HammerSpace Community Workshop, call us at (913) 686-6562 or send an email to hammerspacehobby@gmail.com
