Details: No torch, no fire - just beautiful craftsmanship. Decorative file-work
is a wonderful way to turn a simple piece of metal into a gorgeous work
of art. Traditionally used for decorating high end knives and blades,
we will learn to use this technique in the creation of handmade jewelry
and beads. We will be cutting, file-working, and finishing 1/4 inch
thick copper. Students may choose to create a hand filed copper pendant
or beads. One popular option for decorative file work is to make a
custom hand filed copper cross as shown in the attached image. From
left to right you can see simple, techno-primitive, and elegant
styles. All skill levels are welcome, although an ability to concentrate
is a must for successful file-working. We will do our best to
individualize instruction to the needs and skill level of the student.
